HNSA Research & Publications
The physicians and surgeons of HNSA are committed to providing patients with the most comprehensive and contemporary treatment within the fields of oral, maxillofacial, head, neck, plastic and reconstructive surgery. This endeavor fuels a need for continued advancement of the discipline. As such, clinical research is conducted in a peer-reviewed fashion in an effort to develop new techniques and technologies and to validate current treatment modalities.
Current areas of interest and research include:
- Prognostic indicators of treatment outcome for patients with malignant tumors of the head and neck
- The use of biodegradable plates and screws to stabilize facial fractures and facial osteotomies
- Prognostic indicators of outcome in craniomaxillofacial trauma
- Ambulatory and minimally invasive surgery for various tumors of the facial bones
- Efficacy and safety of bone graft harvesting from the proximal tibia
- Microvascular free tissue transfer for head and neck reconstruction
- 2nd metatarsal to Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) free tissue transfer
