Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Service at Legacy Emanuel Hospital and Health Center

Through its relationship with Head and Neck Surgical Associates, Legacy Emanuel Hospital and Health Center has enjoyed international leadership in the fields of head and neck, cranio-maxillofacial, and oral surgery for nearly three decades.

The History of the OMFS Service

The OMFS service at Legacy Emanuel Hospital and Health Center was created in 1988 by Bryce E. Potter, MD, DMD, FACS and William Long, MD, FACS. The purpose of the service is to provide consistent, high quality cranio-maxillofacial trauma services for the level I trauma center.

OMFS Head and Neck Fellowship and Previous Fellows

Almost all the OMFS former fellows have entered an academic position upon completion of their fellowship. Most have entered tenure-track, full-time positions and some have joined practices that entail a significant academic commitment involving the training of residents and have a clinical or adjunct academic appointment.

Otology, neuro-otology, and Skull base surgery includes the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of hearing and balance disorders, the facial nerve, the ear and temporal bone, and related structures such as the skull base and brainstem.

Pediatric Cleft and Craniofacial Surgery — Head and Neck Surgical Associates
